Khaplu valley and the fort is one of the best places to be visited in Baltistan. It satisfies the visitor along with magnetic mountains, and landscape. Baltistan is the kingdom of mountains with world-ranked peaks here. To explore the Khaplu fort you can take a flight to Skardu, from there it takes 2.5 hours on road to Khaplu valley. This district consists of vast mountains and appealing landscapes, like a blessing of nature. After reaching khaplu valley, above all, you need at least a rest break before you explore anything so that you enjoy and not miss any beautiful places.

Khaplu Fort

This is the view of the historical khaplu fort. In the last few years, this has attracted many domestic and foreign tourists, this became must visit place for sightseeing and from a historical perspective. Khaplu fort lies on the podium where you can have a magnificent view of the whole khaplu valley.

Baltistan consists of five districts one of its Ghanche district where khaplu fort is located, This Palace is an architectural heritage and preserves a history of hundreds of years. In local, it means ‘the fort on rock’ which was built in the 1840. Khaplu Fort has Tibetian, Kashmiri, Ladakhi, Balti, and Central Asian reflects, being on the border of various regions.

Gilgit-Baltistan is on the other side of the boundary but culturally it is near central Asia. As a result, the architecture has a resemblance and a reflection of central Asia on the other hand. The interior design takes you to the era and gives a sense of the customs and traditions of that time and the lifestyle of the Royal family.

However, my objective is to explore the fort an exciting tour indeed. But there are many and much more to do. Certainly The Amburik Mosque 700 hundred years old mosque yet another place on my list to visit. The natural scenery is wonderful and above all, the sky touching mountains, glaciers, and lakes is just amazing.

I’ve got a checklist, that still includes Ghanche district to explore.
