Astore valley

Astore one of the most beautiful district of Gilgit-Baltistan, the land of pastures. On the way to Astore valley, a white mountain from top to bottom covered with snow is worth mentioning. Certainly, the mightiness of the gigantic mountain can even feel from a far distance, and that is the “Nanga Parbat’’. Commonly known as the killer mountain 8126 m and 9th tallest in the world. Above all at jaglot village most noteworthy another thrilling adventure happened. I was right at the junction point of three mighty mountain ranges, Karakoram, Himalaya, and the Hindu Kush.

Rama Lake

Road to Astore valley is rough and a bit hilly. while en route to the beautiful natural landscape around gives relief. After reaching Astore valley, from there about a 30-minute ride or trek to the beautiful Rama lake. Secondly from there you pitch your tent and then another half an hour trek to the Rama lake. Here fishing is a good activity to enjoy the day and beauty around.

Deosai National Park

Deosai national park is located at the altitude of 4100 meters, world second highest alpine plains. This is the home of the brown bear along with a wide range of flora and fauna. Hills and grassland expended on a vast horizon. Furthermore every time light rain is expected because due to at such height. Camping is allowed only near the sheosar lake. Brown bear is there to welcome you usually in the dark. Deosai national park is 4 hours from Astore by jeep.

Piercing the Deosai Plains reaching the top, the sheosar lake looks wonderful. Fairy Flowers around Shoesar lake, the view of the lake left the visitors stuck. Beyond the view, the shape of the lake is like a human heart. Lake Placid looks magnificent in green small hills. Sitting on the shore of the lake, the tranquil of the environment of the deosai national park cannot be expressed in words.

itinerary (tour de Astore)

Access to Astore is via Karakoram highway about 12 hours drive or catch a flight from Islamabad to Gilgit city. That operates on a daily basis (weather dependent).

  • Hire a 4 × 4 jeep from Astore to the rest of the areas.
  • There are few hotels in the main bazaar, take your camping gear along with you.
  • Weather is cold and rainy remember you take a raincoat and warm sweater.
  • Take your cooking material in bulk wherever you go as tourist spots are at far
